winter sucks
« on: December 03, 2013, 06:21:36 AM »
Well everything is put away here in zone 6 for the winter. Everything will be in my basement until the end of May or first of June. Plants just hold on it all they can do for that long. I have 9 shop lights and 5 aquariums set up plus a 100 gallon pond. I have 5 baby koi someone gave me. I am afraid it is going to be a long cold winter. Snow is forcasted for 4 days in a row. I hope it just turns out to be flurries.

The cold front moving across the country is to hit here on Friday. Not looking forward to it at all. :(

I hate winter and we are expecting a storm front in the next day or so.

One bright spot.  I watered my Amaryllis bulb Saturday and the new growth is about 2" tall already.  My son used to measure the growth daily and keep a chart when he was a little boy.  I catch myself wanting to do the same.  I usually just toss the old bulb and get a new one.  This is last years bulb that I left setting on the utility counter all summer after it 'died' back.

Pulled the pumps, drained the filter and put the breather in today.
Going to be getting cold here.

The oak leaves are still falling off the tree and it was 68 F today, tomorrow looks like it will drop to 40s.  Sort of a dreary day, but glad I moved south...no more snow! @O@  What is cool, is my camelias are blooming like crazy and a differenet variety is budding!

high today is to be 30 max . temps next 7 days say high 34 and low 8 but little snow . 2vettes left friday for a ten day cruise up the mississippi on a paddle boat  . it looks like the weather will be better here than where she will be . i think she pictured a warm pleasant trip , she sometimes doesn't think clearly . they end up in chicago some how and i told her it will probably be windy and colder than home . . . peace . . .ps. merry christmas [i hate holidays especially the american christmas . it is supposed to be a religious holiday and we have made it a commercial venture .]
