Lotus update
« on: August 22, 2014, 07:13:36 PM »
The first bud on Frankly Scarlet is growing in size and getting more color.  The second bud is growing upwards and I had a hard time finding it today b/c it was tucked behind some leaves.  (I was beginning to think I had imagined the second bud!)  But wait....there is another bud in the wings!  This coming week the forecast is for the temperatures to be the 80's which is good.  Photos are the first bud and the third bud.

It has been just over two weeks since I posted the first photo and the first bud is still growing fatter.  Numbers 2 and 3 are still coming along as well.  Then this morning I found Number 4!  I tried to get a picture but it was a bit blurry.  Temperatures will cool down later this week.....

Here is a photo of the three buds above the leaves.  BTW, you can see that the leaf height is not very close to the normal height of 3' or so for this variety.
