I see on Google and E-Bay they may be worth more than face value. A lot more in some cases.
Coin dealers say they are worth one dollar.  Who is right.
They are in new condition

Don't know Jerry, but people turn them in at the Credit Union all the time.  That and those gold coins.  I just sold 259.00 worth yesterday to the vault.  I was tired of having themin my drawer.

Ky Kim,  I assume you mean "gold colored" coins.

Jerry, "new" is not a word coin dealers use when grading coins.  The Susan B and Sacajewea one dollar coins were minted in huge quantities, but never really accepted, so if you give your bank a few days notice they can get you as many as you want - for a buck a piece.

As cheesy as it sounds, in our house we love all of the varieties of coins that we now have. My wife has three of the USA maps where you are able to place each coin into a slot for each state, one for each of our kids, and one for us. She also has a bunch of the Susan B. Anthony dollar coins, the gold "colored" Sacajawea  coins, and the bicentennial quarters... For a while there, both of my kids were on the hunt for certain states that they did not have.

Jerry, as far as your question goes, I think that whatever someone is willing to pay for the item/coin is what the item is worth.... Just my two "cents".....

Greg: I suspect you are right, but i did see then on Craig's list for a bit over face.
I did write to the seller and told him of my dilemma. he said he did have offers he rejected.
He asked a bit over face value.

Why would a person pay over face value when they can walk into their bank and get them at face value? Are these coins uncirculated? Is that why he thinks they are worth more? If you really want to know, talk to a local dealer and you'll find out the real thing.

Esther, that is the puzzle. Dealers say they are woth face value. yet i see adds for much more. yes the are uncirulated.
I bet the bank will get you all you want, but not 1979 uncirculated.
