A bit of back story here- I got this lily at the same time I got the others. It was in the bigger pond as well. Almost as soon as it started to get comfy in it's new home, and even had a bud, it developed something wrong with it's pads. Like a mosaic thing. Pads were lasting 3-4 days. I contacted the vendor, and they were very gracious in telling me that they would replace it, but I didn't think that would be necessary, if they could help me figure out what was wrong with it. It was the only thing in the pond having an issue. I sent them a photo, and didn't hear back from them as to what it might be. Then I got a confirmation that they had shipped me another one. And while I totally appreciated that, it wasn't necessary. I can't throw anything out unless I am sure it's beyond all hope, LOL.

SO, knowing that another one was on the way, I went out and got these planters to house both of the Dallas in. This was back at the end of June, with this particular lily. Both of them have been in these big pots for I think 2-3 weeks? And while this one is doing better, there is still something not right with it. The pads still show some weird patterning thing which kills it. When this bud came out, it was tiny, and took over a week to even get an inch long. Then it started to go DOWN, towards the gravel. I was like HUH? As if it couldn't find it's way to the top. Then I fed it, and it made a beeline back to the top. This bud was in process for a long time. I knew it would be small when it finally opened, but I'm just glad it has finally made it. It's very late in the year for the first bud from a lily. I do feel guilty though that the vendor sent me another one, and this one, I couldn't bring myself to pitch.  But, they have made me a customer for life.

I got them at Home Depot, but only the higher volume stores got them this year. It's a 32", 25" deep, and they did have a 28" also, but I missed out on that one.(wanted it for my roses) It's a resin, and comes without holes, so people can drill their own if they want. They were $69,00 each, but the faux terracotta one is $79.00. They may still have them in a few select stores, so you can check online.  This is the coffee? Java? can't remember the finish name. Something like that. I also bought 24" plastic saucers to place inside the pot, to bring the bottom up a bit, since I thought it was a tad deep. I drilled several 1" holes in them, so the cooler water stays in the bottom-about 6" of water under the saucer- and when the water gets too warm, I just swish it a bit and it cools it right down. The top 4" of the pot is where the water gets the hottest.
