Thanks everyone!
I was at Stony Brook Medical Center yesterday, all day, for Pre-Op testing.
My Jeep was parked in the same spot pretty much all day.
When I came out to my car at the end of the day,
tired and not looking forward to the long drive home,
someone had left a pink daisy in my windsheild,
and a note saying, 'Keep on Fighting'.
(which was drenched with rain but still legible)
I don't have any breast cancer stuff on the outside of my Jeep,
but hanging from the rearview mirror is a Swarovski Pink Ribbon Crystal Ornament,
and a tiny pink crystal ribbon survivor charm is hanging from that, just got it from one of Bills cadets.
And I really didn't talk to anyone in the waiting rooms...just read my book.
The Breast Center is right next to the Pre-Surgical/Ambulatory Center...so I think someone from the Breast Center must have put 2 and 2 together...and left me the inspirational note and pink daisy.
I got all choked up...and sat there for a moment before I could drive.
There are some really good people in this world.
So next time you see someone, a perfect stranger, battling cancer, or some other nasty disease,
give them a little inspirational word or 2. It really does go a long way.
