Wow cracking shot Joyce! With the contrast between the black fur, the red mouth and those eyes it looks like something from a Hammer house of horrors movie or the wolf thing from Never ending story!

Looks familiar. Look at this---------

They both think the umbrella plant that winters in the living room was put there for salad and drinking water for them.

I can't keep a plant in the house that has long, grass-like leaves like palms, etc.  They end up looking like sticks without leaves!  Selkie has it figured out--I'm surprised she is eating it since she gets outside.  Probably just likes the taste lol   Oh, and since DH has made me a raised bed for my salad garden, I have a new giant catbox in the yard!  I'm gonna have to practice my sling shot skills again, I can really clear a garden once I've honed my skills.  Aim for the offending tush area, works good if I stay on it...

That really is an extraordinary photo. I agree with SeanMcK.

Your cat has good, but expensive, taste!

My dog tried some composted cow manure today when I was repotting my lilies. It didn't agree with him.  {nono}

My black cat eats the grasses here too. Most annoying. My grasses never get much higher than your picture. Oh well I love the cat anyways.

Great shot.

I can't keep house plants for my cats either.  I gave up, except for a couple hanging plants or over my sink in the kitchen.  One of my cats is pretty dumb though, she will chew the silk leaves off things in the house too.  I once had this thing over my couch that had silk arragement in it.  My mom was over one day and said, pretty said when your silk plants are dying.  I just laughed because I knew what had happened to the leaves.  She don't like animals, so I didn't bother telling her.

Well, I might have found a cure! @O@
I sprinkled plain old ground black pepper over and around the grass.
No more chewing. :)
I thought our recent rains would have washed the pepper away,
but I can smell it even more now that it is wet.
And maybe the plants absorb some of the flavor?
I dunno...but the grass has not been chewed for days now. 8)

Chili powder too is known to repel bugs/ants so maybe would work on repelling cats.
