Tink So sorry to hear about your trouble. :( You always seem to get into some kind of mischief when you are not even trying. I am always in need of good lumber but boss might frown on me coming to Ky. to buy one tree. Sure wish I could come and help. keep us posted as to how you make out. ;)

lolol nancy.. that made me laugh almost enuff to be glad it happened :)

MCP unfortunately I have NO plans on how to get it out of there.. I am not sawing that thingy up with that little pole thing I used.. took me forever to get it.. I had thought it would fall back on his side of the fence in all the woods and just lay there and rot :)

I doubt any of the lotus will make it through that. the big part of the trunk hit right in the pond it probably cracked the preform :(

There's a pond under there? geez, you can't even tell! I hope you don't have too much damage when you finally get it out of there.
That is something that would happen to me....

Sorry about your little problem.  I'd be glad to help if I was your neighbor.

I'm the only house on this block...so if it is a problem...it is mine.  I've stood on top of the cab of DH pickup before to cut limbs.  He threatens to carry all the saws in his pickup.  He claims I can cut more limbs in an hour that he can haul in a day.  I've often thought about getting a chain saw on a pole...but my bad shoulder can't stand the work any more.

Oh No is right, I was wondering what on earth kind of "thingy" you used to bring down a tree that big???  I've seen the tree trimmers on a long pole, but that tree trunk is huge.  Jerry has it right, you need a dude with a chain saw, and quick.  Good Luck, keep us posted.

I can just imagine what it sounded like at Tink's house.

"Hey honey, watch this."

Pause.

Oh Gosh Tink.......what a nightmare.  Hope you get it off there soon, maybe your Lotus Pond will be alright.  I think you need a chain saw too.

TINKSTER! All things in moderation.... In most states any part of the tree that overhangs the property line can be cut back to the property line. In most instances you are supposed to offer the cuttings back to the owner to see if he/she wants them. If not it is up to you to dispose of. so cut it down in the smallest possible chunks. So do you need a chain saw?
Speaking of Lotus I think mine is being awfully forgiving... She put up some more floaters and some more tall leaves. I removed all the dead and dying leaves CUT ABOVE THE WATER LINE (not doing that twice {nono} )Now I really have to get some more fertilizer What's best for submerged lotus?? I will drop some pictures soon.
