4th of July Plans....
« on: June 30, 2007, 11:25:20 AM »
What can one do when the 4th lands in the middle of the week?

We're celebrating all weekend  @O@

Hotter than I can handle today but the evening is when the bar opens and the grill is the hot one.  The heavy lifting will be the wine glasses and possibly the wine bottles if DH doesn't notice my empty glass  :o  Enjoying the evening with friends who love to eat like us and we're happy  ;)

Wishing all my Ponders buddies a safe and happy Independence Day and weekend

My 2 year old grandson will start Chemo Monday so he and Mommy will be in the local children's hospital. Daddy will probably keep her company and the two older ones will stay here for the 5 days.

Right now the only definite plan is for DH to take 12 year old grandson and 6 year old granddaughter in the local parade. There's really not room for them to legally ride in the 76 Corvette but the parade is only about 3 miles from here. Grandson will sit in rider's seat and granddaughter will sit on the flat back area behind the seats. During the parade she can stand up with her upper body out the T top opening and throw candy to the viewers. I won't go.

I just might invite my dad and his wife for the afternoon. I doubt they will have plans. They'll like watching the kids swim and play. We'll have to grill something I suppose.

Enjoy!  Today we visited with MikeW, Sean, Mark, Jerry, Elaine and co-workers and neighbors of MikeW.  Although warm, it was a very pleasant afternoon thanks to the hosts, the friendly banter, good fellowship and great food.  For the 4th I will likely break out my smoker and slow smoke a pork butt or maybe some ribs 8-)~

I'm having a riding lesson on wed and probably doing some work. DH is working too. Then I'm going to try to live through all the dang fireworks that will go off all week. Not my favorite time of year. I do not do well without sleep.

I spent 3 summers taking care of the Carver High Diving horses.  My main tool was a shovel!
Love show business.  I was a kid and loved it.  No, they wouln't let me ride or dive.

Thanks to what we now know was ADD  I did a lot!  Did not stick to much.
this is not bragging. :'(

There is a famous joke about the old man in the circus who spent 50 years shoveling
Elephant dung.
When asked why not retire?  he said, "What and give up show business!" @O@ @O@
