There are a lot of initials used here that I'm not familiar with. I notice them when people are talking about their spouses. DD I think? And others.
Please clue me in.

No problem! DD is dear daughter, ds is dear son, dh is dear husband, MIL is mother-in-law, LOL is laughing out loud...it's just common abbreviations you see on the internet that makes typing faster.

When I asked what DH was, I thought the D stood for something that holds water back in the river. Then someone said that it depended on the mood she was in at the time.
We don't use many of them but the people who text message use a lot of them.
