Sometimes intent is shadowed by result!
« on: July 05, 2007, 12:30:30 PM »
I swear, sometimes you just have to think things through before you actually try them.  I was preparing my lunch and since my soda had gone warm I decided to put it in the freezer for a couple minutes.  When my lunch was cooking, I opened the freezer door with my right hand and grabbed the soda, and then with my left hand I grabbed a glass from the cupboard and placed it on the counter next to the fridge.  As I started to pour with my right hand, my peripheral vision picked up that the freezer door was closing.

Since I still wanted to get some ice after I finished pouring, and my left hand was occupied closing the cabinet door, I simply raised my elbow up higher to catch the freezer door from closing completely.  Sounded like a simple enough concept, right?  Well, it did, except that the door was closing faster than I anticipated and when it made contact with my elbow it pushed my arm forward, thus displacing the can from being directly over the glass, causing me to pour a couple ounces of soda onto the counter.  lol

Next week: How to cook Eggo's in the toaster over!  {:-P;;
I'm broke and can't afford to pay attention, so you might have to lend me an ear.

You are amazing. Did you know that a cup of milk squirting out of the top of a gallon jug that was dropped and is spinning around can spray a circle about 6' across? Ask me how I know and ask me if the people at D & W look at me a little funny now.

Yes, efficiency has it's drawbacks sometimes...the body simply just cannot keep up with the brain! :-)~

My wife is NOT a beach person, I am!
In an effort to get her to go I created a PVC cabana (Esther?)  It was a framework and huge as well as imposing. Dry fit at this point.
I called my engineer neighbor to come see my handiwork.  He touched one post and like a giant domino exhibition it collapsed piece by piece!  Boy did i look stupid! >:(-

JErry, tell that guy to keep his hands off your handy work. Seeing he is an engineer, he certainly should be able to figure out how to make it work if you can't. You said it was dryfit. Maybe when some of the fittings are glued together, it'll work better. What size pipe did you use? Did you order some of those special fittings that aren't really plumbing ones? I'd love to see a picture of your project.

Well, I guess since it's my own thread no one will get mad at me for hijacking this one, but here's something I made from PVC years ago:

It's a Table Top Perch I use when I take Rocky somewhere

Folded down, it's a compact & low perch for the table top....

...or you can remove the upper crossbar and fold the legs up...

...then you put the crossbar back on top for a higher perch...

...then rotate the middle bar (does that make these "rotator cups"?)...

...and finally, you simply install the Parrot on top of the perch!
He has a food dish and a water dish right there in front of him.
I'm broke and can't afford to pay attention, so you might have to lend me an ear.
