I saw on the Internet news about the horrible rains you have been having.  As I recall the Thames is on the other side of that embankment.  I trust it's holding.....

Hiya... thank you for thinking of me.

All is well in London / Essex (touch wood).  The Thames is about 7 miles from me and the river at the end of the garden is called the Crouch.  Both are near their sea entry point.  It's more middle to North England that is having problems... the rivers and storm drains are just unable to cope with the volume of rain we are having.  My flood risk is mostly from a tidal surge... I am hoping that defences are continually improved to address the rising sea levels.
