I think the lilies are appreciating the lack of rain & higher temps. I've finally gotten 80 blooms for the last 2 days. Lily Pons also has a bud!

This year has been kind of sad for me because I lost sooooo many of my tropicals because they didn't tuber over the winter. Plus with all the rain & cloudy days in May & June it slowed down the growth of many of the remaining tropicals. I'm hoping to recover/purchase a lot of the lilies I lost within the next season or so. Normally all of the ponds would be full of pad coverage by now without any extra room to squeeze any more in. So I was very happy to see so many blooms the last couple of days. It feels like I'm making progress in getting my collection going again.

I've been lucky enough to see it in person, it's an awesome sight! That Wood's Blue Godess was enormous and some of the buds on her nightbloomers almost looked like giant Victoria buds!

Kat, while I'm here posting, how changeable is the Sioux? It has two blooms that are a perfect yellow. No hint of orange or red...then again, they've only been open a day or two.

Jessica--by the 3rd day the hint of peach will be at the base petals. I originally got that lily locally at Creative Water Gardens & it has never gotten any darker in tone.

I was in the pond with WBG today pinching off yellowed pads. Put my hand next to the big bloom & the bloom was from fingertip to a bit beyond my wrist.

Raised pond & waterlily heaven. Wow. Everything looks beautiful!

They look much easier to maintain being in raised ponds like that.

Thanks everybody. Yes, the swingset is now gone--my kiddo didn't use it much so it went bye, bye. Next thing to go will be the peachtree. One of the main branches broke off when there was too much fruit on it & we had a huge wind storm. That poor tree has taken a lot of abuse but now I'm afraid it it going to break the roof or window. That is the last spot I'll have to put in another pond

Time to mess with all of these lilies? LOL, it is my summer "job" between anxiously awaiting to see them grow & bloom plus selling the extras.
