More tropicals in Bloom... (photo's)
« on: July 27, 2007, 11:52:08 AM »
It's a nice sunny day and more lilies are in bloom today.

The first is my unnamed hybrid as a trio of blooms
Prince of Siam
Miami Rose.

Cheers,
Sean

Great shots Sean.
I really like the new hybrid of yours.
What is the history on the Prince of Siam? I haven't seen it listed as a named cultavar at UConn EEB Herbarium or the victoria adventure?

The Prince of Siam is a sport of the King of Siam that Rich Sacher brought me many years ago when he first imported the King of Siam.
I felt it held more merit than Midnight because it doesn't burn and remains compact so named it Prince of Siam.

Rich kept one at the New Orleans Botanic garden display for years but I believe I may be the only person who has it anymore. I keep it around because it doesn't take up a lot of space and is one of the only purples I still have in my collection.

Cheers,

Hey Sean:

I like the hybrid, and I'm glad your pond is back together.  Must of been disappointing start having it down while they paint!

Sean, I'm sorry I'm out of the loop here... didn't know your pond was apart. Sorry about that.
:(  Love the hybrid, looks like it has a lot of nice qualities.

Miami Rose is on my "love" list this year. At first the blooms were small, but it has really taken off...I love it! It's got great color, great shape, not too big yet not too small, and absolutely fabulous pads.  o(:-)
Great pics.

I like the Prince, too.

That's really to bad. If it doesn't take up so much space, and isn't prone to burn as much as the Midnight, then why do you suppose it isn't on the market? Seems to me that those are extremely valuable qualities; certainly something I'd look for when buying. Not even to mention the beauty of the flower.

Wow, the pond bounced back quickly. A few more blooms and you will never know it had been disturbed.

Cheers,

Mike

Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?
