Thank you, everyone. Unfortunately she passed away last night. Tests came back, and showed she also possibly had TB, at the very least the bacteria was TB related. She also had septicemia (sp?), a full-body infection. We went to see her yesterday afternoon, it was just terrible, she was pretty much in a coma with her eyes open. At least she isn't suffering anymore. All the meds they put her on actually made her worse literally overnight, but I suppose they had to do it because they needed to get her illness under control. Her regular doctor who failed to diagnose this is actually also head of the pulmonary (lungs) department of the hospital. He'd last seen her Monday in his office, and just told her to come back again in a week, that was week five of her illness he'd been seeing her. Oddly enough, something similar happened to my Uncle-in-law several weeks ago. Some doctors just shouldn't be an MD.
