Our New Kitty!
« on: September 17, 2006, 07:13:09 AM »
Found her at Pepi's Restaurant when Jamie and I went there for lunch yesterday, a little girl too!

We are keeping her for a little while, deworming, litterbox training (done already!) and then she will be going to my friend Patrick who lives in Horton Point Lighthouse. His girlfriend dumped him a few months ago, and his 2 cats died last year. So on the way home from Pepi's, we stopped and introduced Pat to the kitten (we are calling her Pepi for now). Now Pat is this huge professional bouncer, also is head of the Southold Town Parks District, and at nearly 50, still works out daily and has a body like a pro wrestler, good looking outdoorsy rugged man. But show him a kitten, and he starts baby talking. o(:-) SO he told me as long as I potty train her, he'll take her in. @O@

Pepi is adorable. Gorgeous photos of Jamie and the kitty. Jamie is growing up into a very beautiful young lady.

She's absolutely beautiful!  I just don't understand how people can do that, but I'm glad you were there to help her find a home.

How gorgeous is she!!?  Some of my most favorite cats were black and whites, namely Pixie and Panda.  They look dressed-up and pretty all the time!  She is beautiful, (and so is Jamie!), I'm so glad you saved her life.  O0  8)

Oh, she's beautiful....both Jamie and the Kitten.  I like the name pepi.  Espically with the black and white coloring.  Remember the cartoon, pepi.  (might not be the right spelling for it).

My daughter just loves that leapard print.  When she was around 3 she use to call it cowboy print.  Jamie's outfit just reminded me of that.  Gosh, my daughter is 9 now where did the years go.....

Thanks everyone! :)

Pepi is doing great, totally tame now, when before she would play hard to get and run away.
Now she comes running. She is also VERY litter box trained. I am pretty sure she was someone's kitten for a while. She is SUCH a lap cat! o(:-)

Thanks Kim. Jamie and I both have Leopard Print PJs.  8) Jamie is 10!

Haven't heard back from Pat and I called a couple times today.
Wonder what's up? ?)(?
Well if he decides not to take this kitten in,
we'll gladly give her a home...what's one more cat....SIX! :D

Thanks everyone!

Looks like we a have a 6th kitty here. (8:-)
Pat has rethought and now says he doesn't want to adopt.
He is having problems with his son (in his 20s), who is a heroin addict,
and lives in VA. Needs to be able to drop everything and go to VA at a moments notice.

No problem here, since we have become very attached. o(:-)

Daddy's asked me to take his cat . . . she's a purebred maine coon, meant to be a breeding female but her kittens didn't survive so they sold her to him.   She's a gorgeous calico but very small for a maine coon.  I won't get her till later, but have already started taking care of her - got her flea meds and will be the one who takes her to the vet, etc.

Teresa, my eldest cat, Kleokatra is a 'runt' Maine Coon. About 12-14 pounds.
I've had her since before marriage. She is 'the queen' here, and carries herself that way.
Absolutely no one messes with her.
Adopted her out here at Southold Animal Shelter (1/4 mile from our house now) but she spent the first years of her life in my Manhattan penthouse. The animal shelter knows I still have her, and often asks about her helath. She is getting old, but still wearing her crown well. ;)
She is definitely one heck of a cat. 8)

Thanks Daisy, and you are right, they do belong together.
This kitten is special. Incredibly intelligent and loving.
At such a young age too.
She wants eye contact all the time and knows when to back off.
