You should see it now!
I'll take a pic in the morning when the light is better.
Jamie and I were just out there sniffing at it.
Last night there were bats flitting around it, but I think they were going after the moths, and not actually feeding on it. We were out there with the chiminea burning a few small twigs and branches leftover from the storm, and the fire was just about out when we saw the bats. Then the skeeters started attacking and we went in.
Mike, yup, my mom is the Black Thumb when it comes to plants, although she has finally kept a few African Violets alive now for almost 2 years. And she didn't kill her patio plants either this year. (she usually doesn't water them enough and they die) I think some of my advice is finally being taken.
Regina, I would love some of the Geognanthus, but can I wait until Spring? I'll hold on the Episcias. Do you have any giant agapanthus you can share in the Spring too? Right now all I have is Peter Pan. Thanks!
Teresa, John told me this Abutilon is marginally hardy in my zone. I never thought it would get so big, it's up to my shoulders already from a 12" rooted cutting! This fall I plan on leaving it where it is, even though it has horribly outgrown the spot I planted it in, cuz I never thought it would get so huge. I'll mulch it with lawn bags full of raked leaves. If in the Spring it shows signs of life, I plan on moving it to an area where it can be the shrub it wants to be.
