The Making Of Majestic Lily Pads
« on: January 17, 2008, 07:06:25 AM »
In response to a question regarding the making of the "Majestic Lily Pads" I've put together a story board that somewhat outlines the iterations that eventually evolved into the final portrait.  Also attached is a ready to print version of MLP.

The original photo was cropped to frame the three lily pads.  The cropped version was saved under a new name.  The new photo was then blurred and saved under a third name. Next, the background was erased from the cropped version and pasted as a new layer of the blurred version.  The two layers were merged.  Then quite a bit of additional editing transformed the ruff image to the final print.  All in all about five hours work.  The original photo was taken back in July 2007 with the rework done yesterday.

Thanks for the comments and questions.

So Cool!  I just learned how to do Layers in Photoshop last week.  But you definitely made the photo more dramatic with your own skills.

Totally amazing what can be done on digital shots and the computer.  :o  You may need your own post tab to keep those photo lessons coming for some of us in the dark!  O0  Thank you Louis!!
