Honey, it's Annette's fault
« on: January 30, 2008, 09:40:18 PM »
I car-pooled with Annette (miguynmkoi) today when we visited with Kaz.  The location where Annette picked me up was Eastern Nishikigoi, a pond fish store.  After we got back to the store Annette said she was going inside to look around and asked if I wanted to come.  I foolishly said yes and I ended up purchasing 3 shubunkins and two wakins.

On the way home I was rehearsing what I would say to the fetching Mrs. Mikey when I walked into the house carrying those fish.  The bottom line was that I was going to blame Annette.   {:-P;;  When I got home I noticed the fetching one's car wasn't there and I was able to float & release the fish before she came home............ and without having to blame Annette for my purchasing them....

Annette was much more disciplined than was I and she left with her money having never left her purse.  Before entering she said she wasn't going to buy anything.  I should have such resolve.........

I absolutely LOVE Eastern Nishikigoi and all the staff there!  It was not a safe place for me to go when I lived nearby.  The only time I've been able to leave empty-handed was when I was just visiting from Arkansas and couldn't figure out how to get anything home.  They DO ship, however - and the entire crew there knows me and my address...   {:-P;;

You know, I went there to buy three wakins a year ago.  Just three, that's all.  I ended up getting 6 wakins and 2 hifin banded sharks.  Fortunately for me, I have no wife therefore I have no strife (mostly because I have no life). {:-P;;

Missed you Blind'Too!  I tried to PM you about the little get together but your email did not go through....or maybe I didn't get it right, I don't know.

If you'd been with Mikey and me you would have seen Mikey not buy the 5 fish  {:-P;;  lol

BlindToo's private messaging is messed up.  The two of us had this discussion once before when I had a dickens of a time trying to pm him.  As I recall he had to re-register for some reason and slightly changed his screen name.  However, if I recall correctly his private messages will only go through under his old name.  It's really weird and a major pain trying to get a pm through to him.

BlindToo (it's also Mike right?) : Are the banded sharks pond fish or aquarium fish?

Being difficult is my forte, only me...  My screen name is different from my sign up name, I hadn't realized it would be an issue until kinda recently.  You can pm me under Mascot, but for some reason using my screen name won't work.

I appreciate the thought, Annette, but since it was mid week I probably wouldn't have been able to make it (work - a word that Mikey and Jerry get to avoid!)

Mikey...I have four of those Hifins in my pond, two have been there for about three years.  They seem to handle the cold winters here pretty well, but I'm not sure how they would do in cloder areas.  Despite what I've been told, they don't stay on the botton, and sometimes I catch one or two of them swimming with the other fish and just hanging out.  I've seen them at the surface following a lily stem to the top sucking the algae off the leaf, and also in the shallow end by the waterfall.  Pretty kewl fish for bottom feeders!

I remember Blind'Too mentioned somewhere that he purchased the Hifins at EN.  I checked them out the first time I went there and thought for bottom dwellers they look more like sail boats.  The store carries many different sizes from small inchers to salad plate size $$$.

  Actually Jerry had to rush off right after lunch that day to an audition  ;D
In my situation it's a non paying and stressful job looking for work!  We need an icon pulling its hair out.  But I'm always available for some fun.  8)
