I may be pondless this summer..
« on: February 21, 2008, 07:20:15 PM »
I am looking at a job opportunity in Charlotte N.C. with UNCC and that means I will have to sell the house.... And buy one with enough land to put in my new pond... wow an opportunity to build it from scratch..... Johns you are in Charlotte right, care to give a fellow ponder some insight to the area? I will know more early next week (I hope) will keep you posted! Andy

Think of it as an opportunity.  Look what you know now and the mistakes you will never make again.
I bet you build a prize winning pond.
Yes Johns is the man, he has a ton of info and insight.
Good luck on your new endeavor!

And oh yeah if we ever make the trip, we can visit you both easily.

FLORIDA: Nice, sunny and warm.   Beautiful house for sale, with huge lake/pond.

KENTUCKY:  cold and gloomy, snow and ice........hmmmmmm.

Congrats on the new job offer, hope it all works out for you.

Andy good luck with whatever happens.  If a new pond is in the picture, I'm sure you will get it to be just as beautiful as your present one.

Taking into account the likelyhood that you may be working at UNCC, which is located on the north side of town, you may want to locate nearby in order to avoid traffic problems.  I would suggest looking at the Harrisburg area (Ladybug lives near there), especially since the taxes in Cabarrus County are less than in Mecklenburg.  Do try to stay clear of the Lowes Motor Speedway, due to noise and extremely heavy traffic twice a year during race times.

Go to Google earth, harrisburg, nc, and you will see the speedway a little to the north.

Well Darn it.....

Just heard back looks like I am staying put for now. That may well be a mixed blessing. But at least I will still have a pond this summer!!
