Here's what it says on one site where I'm looking to buy a pressurized filter:
"Some flow can be lost through the filter. According to Tetra: "The water flow may be diminished approximately 40% by the resistance caused by the pressure filter. A pump that is capable of pumping 1000 gph (at the height of the pressure filter inlet) may result in a flow of 600 gph from the filter to the pond. Keep this in mind when selecting the proper pump size."
So now I don't know what size pump I should use... When they say the recommended pump for the filter I'm looking at, is 750gph max, does that mean before it enters the filter, or after it leaves the filter?
In other words, can I use my 700gph pump on this filter, even though the pressure will be reduced as soon as it enters the filter? Or should I use my 900gph pump, knowing that once it enters the filter, it will be down to maybe the 750gph max recommended by the manufacturer?
Thanks
