Actually, the first photo is not a Sedum but a Euphorbia called Euphorbia myrsinites, aka Donkey's Tail.
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/781/

Blue Spruce sedum is a completely different plant than the Burro's Tail Sedum
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/3294/
(besides the fact that it is a very hardy perennial.)

Burro's Tail Sedum
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2543/
(not hardy at all, a tropical)

The Euphorbia myrsinites is very invasive, meaning, it invades the whole garden.
Like Bonnie said, it sprays seeds everywhere and they all germinate.
And it is VERY hardy. 8)

Evasive means to avoid, or to be vague or ambiguous.

LOL Jerry....I giggle every time I see or hear someone confuse the word evasive for invasive when it comes to plants.... :teehee:
(Bonnie, a LOT of people do it, not just you)

....because I always picture a cartoon character weed dodging behind a bush in the garden, hiding, then peeping out again...evading me. lol

That's a cool looking plant Bonnie.

I collect plants by the way they appeal to me.  Names are very easy to forget, unfortunately, and keeping a book of all the plant name tags just collect dirt outside in the potting shed.

I got a start of it from Bonnie yesterday because I don't mind invasive plants if they are very easy to pull up.. now if the roots go to China and back that's another story.

( I hope there's nothing wrong with saying Jackass here?)

Thought I posted
but I'll call mine Jackass so I can sell some of it on ebay to keep it in control. These crazy people who will pay 10x's the price if you put a stupid name and/or story with something!

Possible Burro's tail which I trim by pinching off the length and replanting the end pieces.  They're all over the place in my pots because they are so easy to grow and let go.  So far not invasive.

In these two arrangements I have only started watering more often since are now out in the sun now.  For many years they use to sit in the shade with very little water.  They're definitely feeling the heat now and getting a bit scorched.  Will probably have to move them elsewhere with less sun when it heats up.

Bonnie, watch out for jackasses on eBay...
there are plenty there who make up their own stories and their own names just to jack up the price!  :o

Joyce I hope that you know that I was just kidding.

Whenever I sell items I always try to include the correct info and names.   Even though it does amaze me how stupid people can be.
Find a piece of cereal which looks like a state.. sell it on ebay..
Haunted cane.. sell it on ebay...
Etc. etc....

What about the piece of toast with the image of the Virgin Mary on it?   ;)
Did you see that one?  lol

Knowing the correct name of a plant is imperative to growing the plant correctly. O0

I have a dear cousin, who corrects everyone.  She is usually right.
She got me when I said "Very Unique."  Now we all say that, and it is wrong.
My point here is, many are offended, I know if I don't triple check my email to her I will have my errors pointed out. I love her, but she can be a real pain in the ass!  However My writing has improved immeasurably because of her.
Maybe a PM would be better.
Not changing the subject here, but I have had some problems that are slowly being overcome.
I sure don't need this s+++t !  Sean too has better things to do with his time.

PS: Spell check just said I made no errors!  Now that is uh uhh Truly Unique!
Please help us keep this forum the happy and fun place it has been! o(:-)

We have ways of making you behave!   {-) {-) >:(-

Jerry, I say very unique all the time too. :)
I never knew it was wrong...huh!
You learn something every day...and I am NOT offended in the least! 8)
I love to learn! o(:-)

But like I said before, I didn't poke fun at ANYones spelling.
I was simply sharing info so that people knew exactly what plant they have
so they can grow it accordingly.
Can you imagine if someone in Montana left Sedum morganianum out all winter cuz they were told it was the same as Blue Spruce Sedum?
Sure Sedum morganianum can take some very light frosts...but that is about it. Anything below, let's say 25*, and it's mush.
I went back and read my posts over and over and did not see anything that can be remotely considered criticism.
I have better things to get upset about than this.  :)

So if PMs are better from now on, if anyone wants any advice from me on plants, please don't post it openly here.
I will not answer. Please PM me. I will not post or share any more info on plants openly on this forum. :-X
Nor will I correct any misinformation here to avoid hurting any easily offended people.
 8)

I'd call it Elephant Foot but then you gave it away with the name on the photo.

I did see this for sale on several tropical plant sites over the years and would have been able to identify it from the first sight. It is an interesting plant.
