Hi all,
I had hinted in another thread about something pretty cool that I was going to be able to post on the IWC site.
Per legal agreements I cannot also post here but would like to share a link.
http://www.internationalwaterlilycollection.com/The%20Plants/Victoria/newvictoria.htmlAfter 200 years, there may be a new species Victoria. Patrick Nutt and Don & Shirley Bryne went on an expedition a year ago and found the new plants.
Further testing is still being done to determine if it is indeed a separate species plant from V. amazonica.
It is much smaller with a number of differing characteristics.
For those of you with a twitch for something exotic, this may be the future of Victoria for people who do not have huge display ponds.
we hope to have permission to post some photos in the near future.
Tim
