Rototlled today!
« on: April 06, 2008, 01:29:22 PM »
I am not up-to it just yet, so I got smart and hired a young man via Craig's List.
Stan was great!  He is at UCLA third year medical student.  He is not afraid to work!
I was going to sell my old tiller.  Needs minor work.  I gave it to Stan!  A pleasure!
The sign is a joke, I don't take myself that seriously...honest. ;)

That's so cool Jerry, hiring a UCLA med student who is willing to work hard to earn a bit of cash.  Very generous of you to give him your machine.

I like your sign  ;D

Now I will have to talk to my DD about earning a living while in med school.  >:(-

I will ask Joyce.

Stan is in his third year, and a worker.  he noted some blotches on my hand and he said "Cumidin?"
I will be off it soon.   He was very intersting and obviously very bright.  UCLA Med school is very difficult to get into.
He grows veggies too, I gave him a Brandywine Tomato seedling!

I was going to ask if those were lemons but Lawana answered my question!  Years ago when my in-laws lived in Florida they had a small lemon tree and never used them.  We were down there one year and I kept lemonade made up in the fridge the whole time.  From then on, they would pick them all and send them to me ;D

That was such a nice thing to do, giving him the tiller.  He will remember you for a very long time.

Oops, forgot to tell ya.
We tilled yesterday and planted taters, onions, spinach, lettuce, snowpeas and kohlrabi.  Our asparagus is just peaking through the ground too.

Tink,

It's very unusual for us to get in the garden this early, but I had a craving for spinach and lettuce and talked hubby into giving it a try.  We have a five foot tiller that goes on the back of our tractor.  He tilled it up one day, waited until the next afternoon and tilled it again.  Amazingly, it worked up pretty good!
