Anyone here collect cactus?  My 9yr old DS loves cactus and wants to collect as many different types as he can.  We are zone 6, so indoors though.

Anyway.....where do you buy yours?

ebay  ::)

I have a rainbow I'd send you for postage..  It isn't growing straight..always want to grow a bit tilted.  Not sure if you can plant them deeper to straighten them out or not.

Got a few other pieces I could send too...

All of our home & garden stores & most nurseries here carry cactus/succulents.  When I want something unique, I go here: http://www.cactuscenter.com/index.html but I don't know if they do mail-order business.

Home Depot has a great selection of small cactus and succulents in tiny pots for under $2 each.

We don't have HD or nurseries around here.  Have to wait until we get up in the "city".  HD is the closest, about 45 miles away.  But he will happy to hear about HD being affordable!

Thanks for the link. Hope they get pix. DS is a visual kind of guy (kid).

Didn't realize some cactus can be grown outdoors in our zone! DS will be excited. I see another flower bed coming.

Not sure what type of cactus it is here in ky zone 6 but they are huge,  probably 3 to 4 ft tall and winter over .  they have a yellow flower on them in the spring.

Thats funny. A couple weeks ago, my DS said his dream is 1) to own a greenhouse and 2) grow a cactus taller than him   8)
