I Googled pics of the Neon Skimmer I saw at my pond today, and stumbled across these incredible pictures, of a dragonfly trying to eat a (fake) fly, and attacking another (fake) dragonfly.

What beautiful pictures. I love the close-up of the wing structure. Such beautiful little creatures.

The adult dragonfly does not eat. It exists only to mate, so the "attack" was not really an attack, but a sorely missed opportunity to mate.

Absolutely cool what this guy did with the fake fly and dragonflies.  Interesting documentation of his experiences.  Thanks!
