I'm in trouble
« on: May 25, 2008, 05:52:34 AM »
Went to a farm supply store that we don't check that often & found that they are now stocking some grey poly stock tanks  @O@ @O@  I'm not happy with the Rubbermaid tanks because of the cracking issues I've had to deal with.  Haven't been able to find any more of my Applegate brand & these look almost as nice as my Applegate ones.  320 gallon 6 foot round just like my others OR the 1000 gallon which is probably about 9 feet across (I didn't ask for the specs).  Now all I have to do is save enough money to be able to buy one.  I'd really like to get the biggest one but don't know how I'm going to get it home as it is too large for my truck.  We don't know anyone with a trailer but I'm going to be wishful thinking  :D  I'm already dreaming of how many lilies I can stuff into it, LOL.  ;)

Kat,

Who makes the "new" tubs that you found?  How expensive are they?

Kat, you just have to raise a few more lilies in the new pond to sell and pay for the new pond. See, that's not so bad after all.   ;D @O@

LOL, the smaller ones come in handy to seperate the fish when I have multiple spawns that I want to save eggs but I can see the advantage of a bigger one, too.

Frank--I'm already so far into the $$$ money pit this year because I ordered some new lilies plus bought 2 stock tanks already.  Got to sell MORE to catch up let alone pay for the big one.  Wish I knew someone with a big trailer that could help me get the 1000 gallon one home.

Kat,
Is the 1,000 gallon stock tank blue ? I almost bought one a few year's ago & it was blue.
I was afraid the blue color would be too hard to keep the algae out . I already have too much trouble with the stuff as it is.

No Bonnie, it is grey.  That is why I'm so excited about it.  I didn't want a blue one.

What does the blue color have to do with algae growing?  Does it enhance growth somehow?  Or do you mean algae is just easier to see when the background is something other than black?

One can never have too many stock tanks. ;D 8-)~

Check to see if the store has a delivery service. The stores here do and for around $20 (last time I checked) they will deliver it to you. :)
I want one of those big ones too. Just seems like I can never save the money for it though. :(
