I had 6 in bloom this morning.....the yard smelled soooo good...I can only imagine how a whole pond full would smell  o(:-) o(:-)....

Joyce, it was your lotus in a barrel pix that got me hooked on lotus.  I told DH that I'll be getting more every year just so I can enjoy the flowers and the great big gigantic leaves!!! lol o(:-)

Tinkster, nope, no fertilizer, the pond is mud bottom over a liner, and takes care of itself.
Anything that ends up on the bottom, leaves, fish poop, dead bugs, dead fish, rots down and becomes fertilizer for the lotus.
As you can see, there seems to be plenty of nutrients in the pond.
I am about to go out and give the koi their breakfast.  8)
