This years water gardens
« on: June 17, 2008, 12:30:48 PM »
My stock tanks and kiddie pools are starting to take off growing and looking pretty good.
Since I split lilies last fall I don't think I'm going to have that great of lily season but a few blooms are coming on.

Little water garden I made in an old crock.

The stock tanks

Still a bit pea soupy. {:-P;;

The kiddie pools.

Great looking!  I like the tall spiky plants against the flat lilies and hyacinth.

But,,, me, I think I'd get out my can of spray paint, and go to work on that kiddie pool.    :D

LOL! Yeah, they are aren't the prettiest thing on the block. The stock tanks are painted but I'm not going to go to the effort on the kiddie pools when they just get thrown away at the end of the season. :)

Thanks! It was one that I found in the basement of this place we moved into. Its got a big old crack from top to bottom on the backside but it still holds water. :)

Super containers. I love the crock too. The kiddie pond walls may be what they are, but I love the arrangements inside.

Anyone remember the story about the cracked pot?

So what do you do with all the plants in the kiddy pools for winter?

They all get stacked into the two stock tanks which have stock tank heaters in them for the coldest months.
I had too many plants in them this last year though. Several lilies near the bottom of the tank rotted. So, I'm going to have to get another tank or something before winter.
I'm going to try to buy one of the 600 gallon poly tanks in a couple of weeks. I will be working a local music event next weekend and I'll make about $800 extra cash so hopefully I can get one after I get the check. That should make overwintering much easier. :)
