It sucked, big time.  >:( ::) >:(-
We did a lot of it ourselves, and last weekend in the heat and humidity.
No pix yet, camera is charging, just went dead.
The yard is not even started yet, except Bill mowed the lawn for the first time yesterday.

Now we have to unpack about 50 more boxes. :o

That reminds me of when we moved into this house, 24 years ago. Hotter than blazes, humidity through the roof. We sat on the basement floor and ate a pizza. the only place you could be cool.
At least the hard part is over. Planting should be the good part, right?
Oh, I forgot the unpacking-That's not all that fun huh?

 @O@

So when is the first ponding party? (the equivalent of a barn raising, only digging not erecting)

I know there is going to be a surprise house warming party because I have been inadvertently warned already.

Well, sooner of later the pondsai is going in, but NOT in this weather! :P

Heat and humidity just seems to make everything worse doesn't it?  As long as you have your beds made up, the bathroom useable and the kitchen somewhat setup, you can sort of take your time finding your way into boxes and where to put things.  Remember you have the rest of your lives to make it yours:  well that's from a person who has only moved 3 times in her life lol   Good thing I married a farmer and moved to the family farm, cuz I ain't budgin'!!

I can't think of a worse thing than a "surprise" party--but that's just me.  Maybe everyone will pick a room and unpack a box!  :D   ;D

Moving is hard work never mind the hot and humid weather. I feel for you! I hope the worst is over now.

Today we started putting in 3 cat doors.
One that goes from the bottom of the cellar stairwell through the wood door for access into the cellar.
All 5 had no problem with that.
The other 2 doors are metal, and we are going to try to figure out how to do that tomorrow night.
One door leads from the cellar to the garage. Then there will be one from the side garage door to the outdoors.

Cuz if these cats don't get out soon, they're gonna go crazy.
Being house bound for over a week is literally driving them crazy. :D

No housewarming party yet, but this weekend we are loaded with Graduation Parties...Bill's graduating cadets.
Already been to 6 this weekend, have 2 more to go to today. Plus Jamie's sailing lesson orientation party yesterday which we 'briefed'.
Bill is at a grad party now by himself, because I have been planting trees along the shady edges of my gardens,
mostly Japanese Maples I dug from the old house, but also 2 redbuds, one weeping, one regular.
Also planted a Bigleaf Magnolia, Magnolia macrophylla.
It has grown 2 feet in it's pot since mid spring, and will be at least 20 feet tall in 3 years.
Totally tropical looking and has 12-18" fragrant blossoms on it, once it gets about 8-10' tall. 8)
Also planted a Schizophragma hydrangeoides 'Moonlight' vine at the base of a giant oak tree. O0

Anyway, gotta hit the showers, clean up, dress up, and get going now! Another grad party at 2, and another at 3. ::)
(I'd rather stay butt-up in the gardens all dirty and grubby!)  ;)

I hope you have taken lots of photos because it would be great to see the before/after transformation.

Did you purchase the "Schizophragma hydrangeoides" from Luny-Tune Nursery?  ;) :D

I'm hearin' ya Joyce...it's such a pain to have to stop what you really love doing and get dressed up (especially for grad parties!)  Sorry, but the older I get the less I enjoy getting dressed up...actually just putting on shoes is a pain  lol   :P

But have been wondering about your move and pics,,, WE NEED PICS!  :o   8)   ::)   {:-P;;
