Lily Ponds 1st Bloom!
« on: July 22, 2008, 05:35:31 PM »
New deeper pond for lilies!  First the lily pads had to reach the water surface, about and extra 24"+.  Now the flower buds are reaching the surface....and the first just opened with many more to come!  I can't believe how fast the buds are growing and appearing in hours.

I swear I was checking the crown of Rhonda Kay to see if there were any buds coming up one morning.  None.  Later in the afternoon, a client of mine came by to check out the new pond progress and she noticed a bud just 6" below the surface!  Next day the bud was showing above the water.  Today she opened up beautifully.  I'm happy!  O0

Totally worth the hard work to see such healthy growth!

Good job.  You sure do deserve it after all that work.  Keep us posted as your new pond fills out.

Pretty.   o(:-)

I got my first tropicals about 6 weeks ago...just babies.  I've had blooms for 2 weeks already.  I definity want more if I can figure out how to over winter them.

Thank you everyone!  It's nice when a project works the way you plan.  Last night DH and I practically watched more buds rising slowly through the water!  :o  :D

Sue if you're in TX it shouldn't be too difficult to over winter your lilies.  Lots of very good people on AP are from Texas.

Very nice! I had my first tropical bloom this week. The several trops I have just are not doing very well at all.
