Botanical Bowls

Check out this website!
These are concrete cast leaves and some of the prettiest ones I've seen done.
Scroll down towards the bottom and see how they used them for a fountain at the edge of a pond.
Very cool!  O0
I made some of these a couple of years ago. They came out pretty well but not as pretty as these. :)
Check out the links at the bottom of the web page for instructions and check out the link for the patio pond, pretty cool!

Those look GREAT!  I remember when you posted your pics, too, showing how you made yours.

I try to come up with interesting things for a group of gals to get together to do, and this looks like it would be easy and fun, and not cost too much.  Sitting in a movie theater is OK, but doing a craft, you get to interact and talk.  AND, you get to take something useful and beautiful home!

Most of my lotus leaves are now about 36" wide and I need to do a few casting from them in hypertufa.  8)
Now you have me inspired!  O0

They are pretty easy to do but I know I was really intimidated the first time I made them. Once you do it though its a piece of cake. :)
It does help to have an extra set of hands so getting a few people together to do them would be great.
The one thing I found out was that you have to be really careful about smoothing the edges and don't let the concrete go past the edge of the leaf, otherwise you get a funny looking edge.
I have three that I want to use for a fountain or falls into a pond but I just haven't had the way to use them yet. :(
