I love it here too, and was not happy to see someone calling us 'scamericanponders' on Garden Web  >:(   If I had thought I'd be able to say something without causing more fur to fly I'd have given him a piece of my mind!   {nono}

I like it too.  I can't keep up with the huge ones so this is one of only two that I ever frequent. And the other is much, much smaller.  I'm not into fancy ponds or raising show Koi so wouldn't fit into a forum that is slanted for those types. I'm happy here. I feel like the folks here are friends, LOL, friends that I've never met. It's nice to have so many people who have knowledge of all sorts to draw from.

Thanks again Sean and Jerry. AND thanks to each person who helps make us a family.

You know, I started out at Garden Web but new people started coming in that wanted nothing but trouble. All the experienced ponders there are in the off topic Discussion forum. I think that I actually followed one of them here when the trouble started. I've not seen him lately though. Mucky Waters from Canada?

This is a real forum. Garden Web is just one step up from a Yahoo! Group. This is the best water garden forum that I know and it is backed by WGI in which I was a founding member. I just recently joined their mailing list just to see what I could learn. There are some big names in there associated with aquatic plants. People that I look up to like Craig Presnell and Walter Pagels. Sean, just be patient, you're getting there. O0

Oh, no... now I feel bad for not saying something myself  :-\  It's not that I don't love it here, just I used to have my own forum that had lots of great people, and it deteriorated by flame wars.  Now I cringe whenever I see it on other forums.  Sorry guys  :'(

I was out of town for a couple of days and missed what was said on GW and by whom?

I got an email from their moderator scolding me for linking to American Ponders but I DIDN'T link to American ponders, I just mentioned us and Garden Web as having plant trade forums.

It was andrew davis once again spewing his irrational vitriol against AP calling us scamericanponders.  ::)
Nothing unusual coming from him.  lol

Weird, I didn't get a warning. I mentioned AP, andrews history in detail, and my initial response was removed.
If anyone deserved a warning it was me, but then again, I reported the post to GardenWeb.
Still doesn't make sense that you get a warning and I didn't. I feel neglected!  ;) :D

These guys son't realize that a knock is a boost!
When I sold lures to dealersmany years ago, a big time and key one had a buyer who really disliked me.  I have no idea why.  He even said negative things about me. Ethnic BS ! {nono}

I made an experiment, I would tell other dealers that johnny was one of the best fishermen i knew.
He really was good.  I guess word got out because the next time i called on them he bought big time.

Well, there are 3 mentions of AP over there now, I love it!

Joyce, you are baiting the bull putting up those pics of Colorado  {:-P;;   If he were smarter than the average bear he wouldn't respond but I don't think he is capable of ignoring it.  He's so easy to bait that it's almost like shooting fish in a barrel.   (what's with me and the animal analogies? bulls, bears, fish)

I've never joined that forum, that I remember, although I've gone over there a couple times looking for more info on tropical gardening.  It beats a blank. I'd love to find something like AP though that was based in the tropics and sub tropics.  I guess I should look at some of the Australian forums, it's tough finding info on the tropics in English.

I'm truly grateful being part of this community.  Joyce, you make this place homely.  Esther, you are a character (a good one).  Jerry, I'm catching on to your humor. Ky Kim and bunny, you guys are always wonderful help.  Tinkster is an angel.  Magoo and Kat are too kind.  Lawanna is very dependable.  Mikey, you're hilarious.  I can go on and on with all the wonderful people here.  Now I feel like a hippy. ;D  No offense to anyone.
