I went to a great plant sale yesterday:

Phlox divaricata 'Montrose Tricolor' a variegated woodland Phlox
Heuchera 'Crimson Curls' a burgundy one with wavy leaves
Agapanthus 'Tinkerbell' a variegated dwaf and 'Lilliput' a tiny dwarf
Oregano 'Bristol Cross' fabulous bracts, couldn't resist
Schizostylis cocci 'November Cheer' a fall blooming bulb, sort of similar to Crocosmia/Glad cross
Liriope muscari 'Peedee Ingot' a chartreuse foliaged one
Hemerocallis 'Final Touch' from Terra Nova, a pink rebloomer
Hosta 'Tiny Tears' it is soooo cute
Fuschia 'Lottie Hobby' a mini variegated hardy Fuchsia and
Lagerstroemia 'Violet Filligree' a miniature lavender crape myrtle! They were in one gallons for $8, I grabbed two as I walked in the door, I was sooooo excited after seeing pics of Joyce's 'Pokemoke'. One person bought the rest after she saw mine, a vendor. LOL These are supposed to be 1' x 2' really tiny.

Mikey, if you read this, many of those plants came from Edelweiss Perennials, they had a booth there.

I love Agway!  My son is actually applying for a job there today.

I haven't bought much of anything in the way of perrenials yet this fall, except for a gorgeous phlox, which I can't remember the name of.   :D  It's a most gorgeous dark, dark pink color, almost red.  The leaves are a dark reddish green.  I hope it makes it through the winter!

I got 2 new cycads today...Thai imports from Tropiflora. Cycas simplicipinna and Cycas petraea "Loei Cycad". The petraea is rare, but best of all, its HARDY!!!!! It comes from the coldest part of Thailand where they get regular temps well below freezing in winter, so once its got some size on I can plant it outside if I want. It trunks and can attain heights of 20 ft. I wonder how long it will take to do that? I will probably be dust by then.

Here's a photo of the exquisite "Persian Shield" that Jerry gave me at the Pond Party

I also recently removed an overgrown Papyrus and two overgrown Artemisiae to open up one of the waterfalls...I replaced the Artemisiae with "Carpet Flowers" ... I've had a lot of luck with them in the front yard...they produce literally hundreds of flowers

Brian's wife upon hearing I gave him a Persian Shield conjectured that it was a condom!   @O@Very funny and actually a pretty good name for one.
it seems appropriate that they are a cinch to propgate.  Cuttings thrive!

If you have deer in your area, protect that Strobilanthus (Persian Shield). They eat mine every year.

I just picked  up a few new conifers from a local wholesaler.
One is Thuja plicata 'Whipcord' and it's the funkiest little shrub!

Another one is Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Tamu himura'.

And bought some more Pieris 'Little Heath' for a mass planting.

We may go down to Sarasota this weekend for a beach party but if we don't out local Botanical Garden has its fall sale Saturday...the Bromeliad Society and Ochid Society are generally there so I may get some new things.
