tropical lily question
« on: September 07, 2008, 07:16:07 AM »
I recently aquired and transplanted a tropical lily and am wondering if maybe it did not survive the transplant process or it could be in transplant shock.  It came with leaves and flower buds but they sort of dropped off after planting and there are no signs of any new growth.  I know it had a good root ball so am hoping it is alive still, but do not know how it can make it with no green above and only roots.  I do not recall if it had a tiny tuber below or not (might not).

I still have some growing season left as I am in Florida.  Wanted to know if it still has a chance.
My next female cat will be called "Whata Lily"!

It is probably just in shock. It should come back soon.

If you think that your question is dumb, imagine how totally stupid you will look if you don't ask it.

Sounds like yours are doing what my Sacred lotus is doing, going dormant early because of all the rain cooling off the air plus the cloud cover cutting back the sunlight. I was hoping for blooms this year as well. Now, my tropical water lily looks like it's going to bloom soon. It best hurry though before the air really cools off.
