Yes and I did just that yesterday when I trimmed the cattails.  Today my Dad and I watched a Cardinal and a few Juncos walking across to get to the open area for water, the Cardinal I think actually wanted to take a bath as it would fly in but when it's feet didn't touch bottom it would fly up, tried it a few times very persistant....was kind of amusing.

lol you floridians are spoiled.  We use to spend the winter in Key West and one year they were having a  "cold" spell, 60 in the day and they were wearing heavy winter coats while we were in tshirts.

I hate to admit it but we had a cold spell last week where it got down to 60 *at night* and only up into the low 70s in the daytime.  I was wearing sweats and sweaters and even my Ugs, I was freezing.  It's still chilly at night, only in the low 70s, but it is warmer now in the daytime, about 85 today.  My blood thinned out a lot, I doubt I could even take a winter in southern California now.

60 is balmy in my book!   I could almost live year round in 60!!  It was 16* a couple of days ago here.  Makes for great walks across fields, don't even break a sweat!  O0  I agree with Steve, walking on your pond is winter,,,,or every other step with one foot going east and the other going west is winter.  Yeah, 60 degrees and sunny....how sad.. lol

It's been dancing around freezing at night in my part of Florida. This afternoon was nice. Maybe in the mid 70's. ;D
Happy ponding,

We have desert like weather in So Cal.  Cold at night and warm during the day.  Now about 50+ during the night and upper 60's in the day.  Yep, it's cold outside!

We're even expecting a ton of rain, so the weathermen have been announcing for the past week.  So it may be a wet Thanksgiving!

Sand bags are available locally now. Heavy rains through Thanksgiving.  Look for mudslides in the burned areas.
Now we will see how good the new roof's are.
