Well that's a fine Howdy Do....
« on: November 24, 2008, 03:04:26 PM »
I was listening to talk radio this morning and the 24 billion dollar bail out to Citibank, courtesy of you and me, was being discussed.  About this time my mail carrier came by and I noticed a letter from Citibank.  It was an opt-out letter advising that Citibank was raising the APR on our credit card.  And I thought they had sent me an early Christmas card or perhaps a thank you note......

There you go dreaming again.

I suspect that soon when the government hears of our financial problems, we'll be getting a bailout too. Talk about dreaming.

Don't worry Mike, maybe they will have a messenger hand carry a Thank You note to you by way of their private Lear jet.  >:(

Steve
Citibank rejected me for years.  I finally got their card because it was a very low interest rate.  When I had to file for bankruptcy, I was down to my last $100 and Citibank wanted their payment or they would report me.  Even after I explained my situation with the accident and all that, they had no compassion whatsoever so I turned that card in on the bk.  I didn't do a full bankruptcy, I reaffirmed accounts with creditors who worked with me, Citibank didn't care to, so they got nothing.  Now, I could care less about them....and wouldn't want their card.

Same thing applies to Capital One...they aren't in my wallet, and never will be!  They processed my payment ONE DAY after my due date (it was a holiday weekend so mail was delayed) and they raised my interest rate from 12% to 21%.  So I paid off the balance the next month (only $400) and closed the account.
I'm broke and can't afford to pay attention, so you might have to lend me an ear.
