Vlad the Paphiopedilum...
« on: January 11, 2009, 08:01:50 AM »
Actually, I'm pretty sure this is Paphiopedilum maudiae 'Black Jack'
but since I rescued it (several years ago) off the floor of HD battered, bare roots and foliage imprinted with shopping carts and human feet...I can never be sure.
There were several Paphiopedilum maudiae 'Black Jack' for sale in pots on the shelves, so I could 'assume' it was Paphiopedilum maudiae 'Black Jack'.

But I just call it Vlad...

Makes a nice contrast on the windowsill against the 3-4" of new snow topped with 1" of slush we got last night.  ::)

Isn't it gratifying to save a poor discarded plant(or animal)!?
Never have seen that variety. Thanks

seductive.   I am guessing this was this plants desire. I bet she feels hot in that window. Nice show Joyce.

Vlad looks to be one happy camper - love that rich colour.

Cheers,

great job saving the plant, it is beautiful.  My orchids are just now sending up shoots.
