Where's my pond???
« on: January 31, 2009, 10:35:10 AM »
I hope I don't loose my fish.

With us being out of power for almost 4 days, the ice storm, we chose to unplug everything so when the power came back on it wouldn't burn up the pump, or suck up what remaining water is down there, and devert it out some where.  We did have another pump running just to keep a whole in the ice open, but with no power nothing worked.  So, fingers crossed and hoping for the best.  You can see my dogs have had a ball on the pond.

The hoses are froze, not sure which cord is the de-icer cord.  DH is going to get out the spare de-icer and throw it in when he gets home.  The nets are still over the ponds some where.

I feel your pain. Ours looked like that too. Everything seems to be fine now though.

Well, the pond is thawing.  The pumps are running, all is alright with the exception of loosing 2 koi.  Guess it could have been worse. (it had to be my favs though)

Looks like my yard but with a little less snow. Not nice if you are not use to it.   Hope the fish are fine, I worry all winter as my pond has had no winter thaw as most years.  We did break our almost month long period of cold below 30* this weekend.  But now back to the cold....calling for the teens again tomorrow and it's back to single digits at night.
