Gonnere and seedling.
« on: February 03, 2009, 12:37:22 PM »
Gonnere on left and a seedling from 05 that has been all crowded out by weeds and lilies but is always pretty.  It reminds me of pink sensation in shape with a more rose pink color.  also has mexicana heritage 2 generations back but the leaves don't show it.  probably a small plant, it's hard to tell with it all crowded and weedy.

OMG, I'm glad I asked - it was worth it!

Now why is one with rounded petals, and one has pointy petals?

Beautiful!  I received this plant as a trade last summer.  If it survives the winter I hope it turns out as nice as yours!

You know the ladies may be correct.  I checked the label that came with my gift gonnere and it is white and looks very much like Teresa's photo.

Thanks for catching that.   It's   Madame Wilfron Gonnere.  I have Gonnere on the other side of the pond, just like the white one you showed.     I somehow got mixed up.      The flower on the right is a seedling of mine from a giant mexicana cross plant that I discovered produces, in the first generation, only small plants.    and this plant does not have speckled leaves.               The pic below is    Madame Wilfron Gonnere.

Yes, Gonnere is white and Madame Wilfron Gonnere has a pink blush. Although mine is not nearly as pink as yours.
