A leak found! New patio framing.
« on: March 12, 2009, 11:09:28 AM »
Ok the termites are being taken care of as well as rebuilding part of the patio, now a new surprise.
Our water usage has tripled.  I can't imagine it's the pond.  Id dread installing a new liner.
A leak detection service will be here today.
It never rains, it always pours.  275.00 for the leak detection! It's only money.

Jerry, a plumbing leak is like a pond leak, if it is under ground, look for a muddy spot. If it's in a wall, there should be moisture showing. Other causes could be dripping faucets and toilets. If I'd been close by, it would have cost you nothing to find the leak but repairing it would cost you. My dad, the plumber, taught me a lot. I just don't want to be a plumber and he didn't want any of us kids to be plumbers. :)
Happy ponding,

Hey Jerry, I'm glad you found the leak. If it were me I would have found it ten minutes after the check went to the guys that did not find it. What are you going to spend your new 275.00 on?

When you installed the automatic valve to fill your pond I was thinking that the only drawback was that you wouldn't know when you have a leak....but I was wrong.  You do in fact have a leak detector.... LA Water Department  :D

I did luck out Lu Ann!
The tan shade fabric is ordered, guess what?    It is $275.00 exactly.
Many of the patio plants are a mess.  I have my buddy from El Salvador working, and yes, he is legal.
Juan tells me that for $ 50,000 he can get a nice home and 50  acres there!
Note treated wood.

Yup, that's the way it goes.  Did you rip out the vine that was covering your structure?  It's gonna look really nice when you are done I'm sure.  Just in time for an outside party.   ;)

lol  Mikey when I built my pond my water department got the address messed up  and scoured my neighbors yard for leaks, till she came out and without knowing for sure what they were actually doing, asked them "did you see the new pond nextdoor?" They thanked her and left.

I'm glad you found it, Jerry. Maybe some day I'll be able to come out west for a visit to see your yard.
Happy ponding,
