I used to be crazy for roses, especially heirloom English roses that have amazing fragrances. My DH hated roses because he felt obligated to trim them until I told him "hands off my roses." Now he enjoys them and once in a while strips every blooming rose to put in a vase for me just to say he loves me. It use to irritate me to see all the roses gone but then again he is doing me a favor by "trimming" them for more blooms to come up!
Bonnie that 3rd rose is a David Austin Fragrant English rose which I cannot for the life of me remember its name (a few loose cobwebs upstairs). This year I enjoyed the large profusions of blooms from it. Only wish I was smart enough to take a photo!
Joyce, it took a long time for me to grow the roses I liked for their performance and fragrance. When I learned to read the labels for the quality than looking a pretty picture I finally got the roses I like. There are some roses that look and perform so beautifully it's sad they do not smell like anything. A well! Too bad deers appreciate roses so much
