My forensic garden.
« on: May 08, 2009, 04:24:30 PM »
A couple years ago I planted Hostas in a bed along our driveway.  They have struggled because the deer eat them every summer.  The other day I noticed how bare the bed was looking.  I wanted this bed to look "woodsy", so hubby and I headed to the woods!  We dug ferns and jack-in-the-pulpits.  While mushroom hunting this spring, I found a turtle shell.  I already had a deer antler in the bed, soooo .........I began to see a theme.  I have now named it my Forensic Garden. ;D
The deer and cow skull were in our barn.  I even found a little holly in the woods and a nice rock.

I love it, and the best part is, it didn't cost a dime. O0

Nice looking garden. First thing I thought of was if I had one I'd name it "The Dead Zone"  ;D I love those gardens that don't cost you anything but a little hard work  O0

That looks good Karen!  I have a skull in one of my gardens, along with a couple of wheels just like yours!  Old farm implements make the best decorations don't they?

The old rotary hoes make good decorations, they look like the sun!  O0

Thanks guys!

The wheels were given to me by my friend Martha, I had been calling it Martha's Garden. lol

LuAnn, I don't have a rotary hoe.  I will ask hubby about one.  I do have a hayrake, planter box, iron fence from my in-laws yard and several more wheels.  There's an old iron tractor seat in the barn that I would love to put in a flower bed, but he won't let me have it. >:(

Guess I should be happy with the skull, he was saving it for his mancave. ;D

You can also buy really large alligator skulls from the "Loves" truck stops in Louisiana, they buy them from somebody. I like it, looks great.
