Too darn cold & cloudy

All of the tropicals that weren't in my coldframe ponds are really POUTING! I swear we've been cold & cloudy for over a month.
The 400 wt heater in my pond with my baby tropicals is not keeping up with the lower temps. The rain is appreciated but I'm sure I'll be complaining when we get temps in the 90s & higher (the plants will love it but I personally don't like the heat, LOL)

Not to make you feel bad, Kat, but here in Houston, it's dry and record-setting HOT, and not a sign of a cloud anywhere. I've had three purple blooms already, and even my 99c PetSmart lily (yellow) has bloomed!

Julles--sounds like we need to even out the weather between us ... drought & hot temps can be just as fustrating.
Let's hope they do start to take off soon

It would have helped, but we had some really bad wind that tore the plastic off. If the temps/sun had stayed in the normal range this wouldn't have been a problem.

We have more cold spells than hot weather but when it's hot, it's HOT. Lilies not growing nearly as fast as past years. In the same boat as you.

Ok we had frost the other night
I wish it would warm up also.....although I can't complain to much as it makes getting some of the hard outside work done easier, and it has been pretty steady in the upper 50's-low 60's, I even noticed some lily pads finally taking off and a few close to the surface
