I booked a Shakespear commercial. A few photos added.

"We decided you were best suited for the role."
 o(:-)
My but I loved those words.  I was well suited having spent most of my life with fishing tackle and having been in that business.
It is a commercial, shooting this Sunday at Huntington Beach Pier.

It would have been a downer if I missed this one

Funny.

In the script the youngster quotes a fishing prayer by the bard.
I (old man) say, "No no, boy, I'm talking about Shakespeare fishing poles!"

Congratulations Jerry!! I swear, every time I receive a call sheet I always look for your name, hoping that one of these times you will get onto a Ford set! We are shooting a Toby Kieth spot next week at the Rose bowl, maybe they are looking....

Well done Jerry - so you are playing a sort of 'anti-bard'?

You won't be wearing those flared trousers and carrying a skull around then?

Cheers,

Mike

Nah Mike, just an old guy showing a kid how good Shakespeare tackle is.
Greg, I did submit for the Toby Keith gig, no reply :'(  It is sooo competitive as you know.
I am told if you get one booking from 100 auditions it's normal.  I do a lot better since I now submit only for what I am suited for.
It's hard to accept. but I am who i am.

Not sure I get the connection.  JFK quoted Marley.  Marley also escorted Scrooge to hell or Purgatory {nono}

I will be at Huntington Beach Pier all day tomorrow for the Commercial. If any local want to stop and see, please do. Mikey, Annette??

I just got home.  The pier was mobbed with the holiday crowd.  We had an audience too until a Pelican landed near by.  Everyone left to see the Pelican!   If we get a link I sure will Julles. This one I am well paid for but it was poorly organized.  The crew was excellent, the food awful. Potato Chips and donuts!  Yes they were taking us out for a nice dinner, but I opted to head home.
I will add a few photos here, The director said it will be finished in 3 weeks.  That means 5 !
Only 2 actors.

You're a natural, Jerry.

If you have more pics of the film crew, showing what they look like and what they, post those, too, please.

Jerry,

Sometimes I see things in a different way, so my apologies as appropriate.  The hat and vest (and I think the black shirt) look brand new.  Since when did we retired folks get a new hat AND a new fishing vest at the same time.

Be well, be safe,
Jim

 Jim:
The tee is coffee stained,  and frayed at the collar. If they seek a more worn look thsy have a wardrobe mistress and advise me or pick from an assortment I bring. The blue shirt is paint spattered.  The hat, pretty new.  I didn't plan to wear it, but I don't direct these things.  I do as I am asked.
Julles, the crew is very young as you see.
I have been sending the crew photos, no one but me had a camera!

A friend who was an Opera singer saw a film I did. He opined that if I wanted to talk like a gangster I should watch Brando in the "Godfather."   I assure you they would have laughed if I had done anything similar, besides the writer and director tell you what they want.   One's own interpatation is most always welcome, but very subject to what they want.
Who is retired? Not me.
