Our first lilies this season
« on: May 31, 2009, 04:33:35 PM »
Almost a whole month late this year. Alba and Attraction opened today. Mayla and Almost black have buds up to the surface.

The weather has warmed up nicely this week. Feels like summer is coming finally. We had another very cold spring this year.
I lost most of my tropicals this winter. Only two are slowing growing in the basement. One looks like it may be Sandra Lyn. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is. The other one has plain green leaves. The tags fell out again so I will have to wait until it blooms to figure out which one it is.

Looking good and you have so many beautiful lilies. Our weather here in Washington is just now warming up pretty good so I'm hoping my lilies will have buds up soon. Finally have the pads anyways  @O@

We had our first one today too. It was Sandra Lynn.

Thanks guys! Although Alba isn't that popular it is very showy if you can give it lots of room to spread. The blooms are very large. This plant is bare root in the middle of our large pond at about 4.5' deep. It does very well that way.
Annette, we are having your weather today. It's incredibly hot with a strong very hot easterly wind, but I'm not trading!! Hope it gets warmer for you soon. DH and I just got back for a short bike ride and I'm dying!
LeeAnne, so cool to hear your Sandra Lyn is blooming. It's such a pretty lily.
Today the ponds are full of buds waiting to open. Should get a good show in a couple days.

My Bad, not Sandra Lynn but Cynthia Ann.  :D

Maryvonne it was really hot here yesterday too. Cooling off today. I've enjoyed the sun. Your lilies are lovely.
