Got a catch or two!

I went fishing this morning with DD at a local lake that just got stocked with 1000 lbs of rainbow trout!  I caught TWO!!!  Dinner is gonna be real fresh tonight!

First trout (on top) is 3 1/2 lbs and the second fish (on bottom) is just under 3 lbs.  A very nice fisherman on another boat came up to us and helped us with a new float and hook for my fishing rod.  He already caught 4 trout nearby like, boom, boom, boom!  Four is the limit so he thought he would help us out since DD didn't catch anything yet  :'( 
But I'm  @O@ with my two!!!!

Great going Annette. Which lake was it?


1. RAINBOW TROUT POCKET STEW WITH GIN {nono} {nono}
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Butter 4 sheets of 16x16 inch parchment paper or foil. Over medium heat, saute shallots and vegetables in 1/2 tablespoon ...
Ingredients: 14  (filets .. flour .. juice .. milk .. nutmeg .. parmesan ...)
2. CRISPY FRIED RAINBOW TROUT
Thaw frozen fish. Clean, wash and dry fish. Combine milk, salt and pepper. Combine flour, cornmeal and paprika. Dip fish in milk mixture and roll in ...

Lake Mission Viejo!  Forgot how smelly my hands get handling fresh fish, phee-yewww!  Will have to sneak a lemon from my neighbors tree  {:-P;;

Jerry, tempting!  Crispy sounds soooo good.  Tonight we will have it baked on the barbie in foil, dripping with butter, herbs and green onions.  O0

Wow, those are some great looking Trout......I don't catch much here now, what we call Silver Dollar Bluegills, cause that's about the size I get ice fishing, and a bucket of those are a pain in the a$$ to clean, but boy they are good.

Now if I lived in a cooler climate it might be tempting to keep a few of those in the pond......  I'm guessing they are much tastier than my current pond residents... ;D

Mikey if I had a really big pond/lake..... {:-P;;

Yep the trout was delish!  Extra butter and herbs and everyone over ate!  There were only six for dinner but we were stuffed bananas after dinner and still had left overs for breakfast and lunch.

Gonna go fishin' again the next time the lake is stocked.  Wanna join us?!   :D

what....no pics of them cooked and ready to eat?   My brother once came over after kayak fishing and told me he only caught one fish.  Of course, it was a 27lb yellowtail!  We finished it all before the weekend was over...sat night dinner, sashimi, and sunday morning leftovers.

Sorry Michael, from the barbi to the table I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the feast before everyone dug in!   :o

I have to say that yellowtail would not have made it off the boat with my crew.  Oh my!  Sashimi heaven....pass the wasabi!  Yahoo!  @O@

They are Sheephead. The meat is boiled and is a lot like crab meat.
The females are not as colorful.
