Very dry.  A bit of humidity would help.
My lotus that were so lush are semi fried!  I have 30% shade fabric over them too.  75% next time.

But you're used to it aren't you?!   :D  It's about 85* here, but feels like 95.  I've got a couple of poor sweating construction guys repairing wood rot in the trellis over the BBQ deck area.  Lots of cutting, replacing and painting.  Too hot for me to orchestrate from outside.

Turning the A/C on for the first time this year...$$$  :P

. . . and the water restrictions sure don't help.
Are you under the same L.A. city requirements of using irrigation systems Mondays and Thursdays only?

I find myself sneaking around furtively under the cover of darkness with my garden hose bringing extra water to the gingers and plumeria.

Keep cool,

Cheers,

Mike

It's been in the upper 80's to low 90's here with a heavy shower or thunderstorm sometime during the day. 8)

I just found out we are under a water restriction too.  Watering only allowed on Tuesday and Friday and Saturday or Sunday until October 31.  I'm pulling out the 5 year old chrysanthemums.  :'(

We've been 100 plus for nearly two weeks now.  We finally got a shower for the first time in about a month.  That makes 7.80" so far for the year.  This is not normal at all.  Thank God it is usually high 60's or low 70's in the mornings yet.  So far we have no water restrictions.

Wouldn't you love to see the Mayor and the city council's water bill?
And of coures the now defeated City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo.

id bet dollars to donuts these guys are the biggest abusers.

My squash plants are badly wilted by noon, wait a few days?  I can but they will be dead.
Only the tomatoes seem drought tolerant.

I hated the water restrictions we were on a couple years ago.  Luckily no one but the one neighbor could see me topping off the ponds.  If I had the room & knew how to do it, I'd have barrels set up to save rain water.  A number of my hardies get crispy & even some of the tropicals are wilted with our 100+ temps.

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

It's been in the 100's here for too long now. I felt blessed yesterday evening when it was only 88, it felt like a cool spell. We are going kayaking today and the creek is down to 2.57 feet and as warm as a bathtub.

You know, even with the rain here, they still advertise that my county is on water restrictions. That includes everyone, even people on well water like my wife and I.
Happy ponding,
