A walk in the garden...
« on: July 27, 2009, 06:46:08 PM »
I got tired of waiting for the very slow Dracena dracos to send out side branches.  So did this.
As you see in pic #2 it is working, but ever so slowly.
Pic#3 is a Coral tree that i just cut back in a "Vase" shape.  It was very wide and casting a lot of shade.
#4 is how the canopy looks today.  I hardly ever empty my skimmer nowdays thanks to it keeping debris out

That's such a cool pic of your back yard/pond with the shade cloth.  Very tropical and private--love it!  ;)

Looking fabulous!  I only like beautiful coral trees when they are not near or in my yard.  >:(-

Absolutely love the canopy!

Jerry:

You have such a great place and your knowledge of these plants is extraordinary.  Us poor folk in temperate areas drool over some of the plants you grow, ESPECIALLY IN JANUARY!  That Dracaena looks just like the one I have on my back porch, but it has to retire to the indoors for the winter-plus it is only a 1:10 scale model of yours!!!  Keep the pics coming!!!

Thanks but I really am not as knowledgeable as I appear. Not a detail guy.
I have been reading about plants for over 40 years, so some knowledge had to rub off.

Here is a Tradeascantia, so very easy to propagate.  I used to make cuttings, but accidentally found I could just leave them in a tub of water and they do fine.
This one will be close to 3 feet by fall.
Theis one is from last year, it was in a pot on top of the Skippy.  huge!
