Turtles can be interesting to watch. I have two yellow-bellied and six red-eared sliders and expecting two more yellow bellied and another slider that I've never heard of before. One of the YBS's was a little girl that was found on the front porch of where my wife use to work. We named her Terri and she learned her name. I call her when I go out to feed them and she pops her head out of the water as to say,"Here I am!"
Happy ponding,

I wonder if he really was shy of the new rock, or if it just took that long for him to feel like climbing up on it.  I hae a cat who's scared of everything!

I love the small dark green lily pads against the larger lime green ones.  Oh, and the marshmallows in the background.

The one that appeared at my pond earlier this spring does that. Course I just call it "turtle turtle" (real imaginative, I know LOL) & it pops up & swims to me.

Great looking turtle. I would love to have a turtle in my pond. Gets to cold here. What do you do with them in winter? :)

Sunny Cal here.  I don't do anything.
No Tink.  They had a setback, but repotted and doing nicely.
I saw an Osprey in my Coral tree today.  I got the camera and stealthily went out. He was away in a flash.
I am in a very populated city environment.

Jerry, here we'd call your turtle a red eared slider.  I found a couple in my ponds this spring.
Friend got one, I've got other one in aquarium.  Do they bother your lilies or punch holes in
your liner?  Little booger has sharp clawsl!!!

They do bite the pads once in a while, but there are plenty to go around.
Tell tale "V" marks are left.
Liner? Not yet . I hope never. Perish the thought!  It has been close to 5 years.
