disposing of Aphid Infested leaves
« on: August 14, 2009, 04:40:30 PM »
I went into my pond today and pulled all the ruined leaves and washed all (at least tried) the aphids off the leaves.  The leaves I cut out, what is the best way to dispose of them? If I put them in my compost will the aphids just continue to breed and take over my garden?

TIA!

Put them in a black garbage bag, sealed tight and leave them in the sun all day.
(you can do this for a few days, as long as they get cooked one full day in the hot sun)
Then you can dump it all in the composter, or compost pile. 8)
